The Ballet Senior Class of 2022 concluding showcase

After four years of long hours and hard work, the Ballet Senior Class of 2022 at the School of Dance proudly presents Final Bow. This performance reflects a heartfelt farewell to their faculty, staff, fellow students, and supporters.

For these dancers, two years of isolated dancing only served to spark more creativity and inspired art-making. Final Bow is the culmination of four years of dedicated resilience and passion that the Ballet Seniors wish to share with the audience.

In this display of classical variations, contemporary works, neoclassical pieces, and jazz compositions, the audience will be entranced by presentations of personal aesthetic and movement. For this special performance, the dancers were free to choose which elements to incorporate, resulting in a magnificent ensemble of creative expression.

Said one senior dancer, “This performance truly represents how far we have come as artists and as people. We have studied for four years at the School of Dance, and are now prepared to embark on the next chapter in our lives – be it in dance or elsewhere. While we cannot thank the faculty enough for their guidance along this journey, this celebration hopefully begins to convey our gratitude.”

With one performance, Final Bow will grace the stage of the Hayes Christensen Theatre in the Marriott Center for Dance on May 4, 2022 at 7:30pm.

Admission is free. Seating is limited. The performance will be live-streamed at dance.utah.edu/virtualshows for those that aren’t able to attend in person.
